Development and Current State of the Scientific Direction “Pattern Recognition and Image Processing” in Belarus

Abstract—The article presents a brief historical background on the development and current state of fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of image analysis and pattern recognition, carried out at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and at the leading universities of Belarus. The most important results of these studies are presented and their applied aspects are characterized.
