Abstract—Water pollution by heavy metals in Uglovoi Bay in 2015–2016 was analyzed. The concentrations of Mn, Fe, Cu, Ni, Hg, As, Pb, Cd, and oil products were found to exceed the corresponding MAC values. The development of hypoxia and the accumulation of dissolved heavy metals were taking place at the northeastern coast of the bay. River runoff was concluded to be the main source of pollutant inputs into bay water. Studies of ice core samples showed the accumulation of large amounts of heavy metals. Ice cover accumulates pollutants and initiates the processes of their input into water. The pollution of water in Uglovoi Bay by heavy metals and oil products in 2010–2016 is evaluated.
