Abstract—A new method for the production of fuel briquettes from carbon-containing fine waste and an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol under pressure was developed. It was found that a freeze–thaw cycle promotes the formation of fuel briquettes with a minimum amount of the polymer binder. Samples of high-grade fuel with high physicomechanical and energy characteristics were obtained for use in domestic and industrial conditions.
