Abstract—The similarities and differences in the composition of organosulfur compounds in the organic matter of oil shale from Upper Jurassic, Middle Devonian, and Middle Cambrian deposits were characterized using modern analytical techniques (selective chemical destruction with the use of nickel boride, supercritical fluid extraction, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, and two-dimensional gas chromatography with a time-of-flight mass spectrometric detector).
