Abstract—Specific features of the mountain soils of the northern slope of the Kirgizskii range of the Tien Shan
Mountains are due to the development of elementary soil processes that vary in age and lag. The diagnostics of
ancient pedogenesis were based on the study of the criteria with the longest response time, namely, the mor
phology of soil profiles, the system of indicative characteristics of organic matter, and soil age.
