Abstract—The relationships between the enzymatic activity and the degree of hydromorphism of soils in
floodplain meadow phytocenoses and the environmental conditions in the Belarussian Poles’e were revealed.
A wide spectrum of free amino acids determines the specific nitrogen metabolism and mobilization of organic
carbon and nitrogen in these soils. Biogenic properties of Belarussian meadow soils are characterized.
