Determination of the Rate of Mineralization
of Humic Substances in Soils

Abstract—A simple approach to the calculation of the rate of mineralization of humic substances in soil is pro-
posed. The method is based on the measurement of microbiological parameters and allows the determination
of the rate in any layer of soil at any given moment. The results obtained by this method match the data obtained
by other methods for analogous and related types of soil.
