Abstract—Cu2 – хSe compounds were prepared by SHS method from (2 – x)Cu + Se powder mixtures (x = 0.0, 0.15, and 0.3) and characterized by XRD and SEM/EDS. Composition of combustion-synthesized copper selenides was found to depend on x. In case of x = 0.0 and 0.15, combustion products were found to contain largely monoclinic α-Cu2 – хSe (C2/c) modification while at x = 0.3, the cubic β-Cu2 – хSe (Fm-3m) one.
