Abstract—Thermal transformations in calcium iodate were studied by differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range of 300–973 K. The process was found to proceed by the scheme: Ca(IO3)2∙H2O → Ca(IO3)2 → Ca5(IO6)2 + I2 + 9O2. Calculated kinetic parameters adequately described experiment. X-ray diffraction patterns of the intermediate products formed at 523, 723, and 873 K well agreed with the available literature data.
