Abstract— Film formulations based on pectin and polyvinyl alcohol with moxifloxacin were developed. The moxifloxacin release from films with different polyvinyl alcohol content was studied. Changes in the composition of polymer complexes influence the size of supramolecular formations in composite films and ultimately the moxifloxacin release kinetics. The complexation of polymers with moxifloxacin was studied by electronic spectroscopy. Microbiological tests demonstrated the pharmacological activity of films based on pectin and polyvinyl alcohol with moxifloxacin.
