Abstract—The kinetic laws of 1,2-dimethyl-5-vinylpyridinium methylsulfate polymerization initiated by
tert
frame0butylperoxypropanol in an aqueous solution were studied. It was shown that the polymerization proceeds
with participation of radical active centers and is complicated by the presence of physicochemical interactions
that are typical of the solutions of ionizing monomers. The kinetic analysis of the process was performed, and
a scheme of the polymerization reaction was suggested which allows for chain termination via the reaction of
a growing macroradical with a low-molecular-mass, possibly, primary radical.
