Abstract—Cyclolinear polyorganocarbosiloxanes were synthesized by the polyaddition reaction of dihydroor-
ganocyclotetra(hexa,octa)siloxanes with divinylorganocyclotetra(hexa,octa)siloxanes in the presence of plati-
num catalysts. The effects of various forms of Pt colloids, which were obtained by reducing Pt complex com-
pounds, on the structure and properties of the resulting polymers were studied by gel-permeation chromato-
graphy and 29Si NMR spectroscopy. The phase transition temperatures were determined by DSC, X-ray
diffraction analysis, and optical microscopy. It was shown that a noncrystallizable polymer bearing decaethtyl-
cyclohexasiloxane fragments is mesomorphic and forms a hexagonal 2D structure of the columnar type.
