Abstract—It is shown that a minor modification of the equation that describes the effect of magnetic viscosity
with a small relaxation time on dynamic variation in the magnetic state ensures a perfect fit between calculated
and experimental curves of dynamic reversal of magnetization. Indeed, the calculated results then correlate even
with the known facts of domain structure fragmentation which occurs upon an increase in the rate of magneti-
zation reversal. Also, the estimates that such a comparison yields for the expected average domain width in thin
tapes of current-conducting soft magnetic materials agree quite closely with known observations.
