AbstractComparison of calculated and experimental Wagners interaction parameters in solid solutions is
proposed as a test for the validity of various theories of interatomic interaction in alloys. The existing data for
solid solutions of hydrogen in niobium are considered as an example. It is shown that the modern electron the-
ory of alloys and theory of deformation potential may yield Wagners interaction parameters that agree well
with the experimental ones.
