Abstract—A computer program is developed to calculate the temperatures of complete melting (the liquidus
temperatures) from standard mineral compositions in the Na2O–CaO–SiO2 system in the field limited by the fol-
lowing compositions: wollastonite CaSiO3 (W)–sodium silicate Na2Si2O5 (NS)–silica minerals (quartz, tridym-
ite, and cristobalite) SiO2 (Q). It is shown that the temperature dependence of the viscosity is closely approxi-
mated by the equation log = K/T + b0t2 + c for most of compositions, for which the experimental data are avail-
able in a wide range of temperatures and viscosities. The relation between the logarithm of the viscosity and
composition at a given temperature can be satisfactorily described by the equation logt + b0 + b1W + b2NS +
b
3Q + b4t, and the dependence of the logarithm of the viscosity on temperature and composition is well repre-
sented by the equation log = –10.784 + 1.607 104/T + 0.064(t2/104) + 0.031W + 0.058Q – 0.068(Q2/100).
