AbstractThe results of calculating the viscosity of silicate glass-forming melts by the fifteen known methods
are compared with the published data for several thousands of compositions over a wide range of temperatures.
The SciGlass information system concerned with the properties of glasses was used to compare the data.
Anumerical criterion allowing one to compare the performance of various computational techniques is sug-
gested. Recommendations aimed at improving in the calculation techniques are given.
