AbstractThe precursors based on ZrO2 and HfO2 with a narrow size distribution of agglomerated particles
(100300 nm) have been synthesized by citrate solgel method. The conditions for formation of nanocrystalline
powders in the ZrO2(HfO2)Y2O3(CeO2) systems have been determined using the X-ray diffraction and dif-
ferential thermal analyses. Nanoceramic materials have been obtained and the temperature ranges of their sta-
bility have been determined.
Keywords: zirconium and hafnium dioxides, solgel synthesis, metal citrate complexes, etherification,
