Abstract—The temperature–concentration dependences of the electric conductivity for glasses in the
x
Na2O(100 – x)P2O5 system (x = 30–55 mol %) are investigated. The contribution of sodium cations to the
electricity transport is determined. It is revealed how impurity structurally bound water affects the electric con-
ductivity. The method based on the use of stable isotopes is advanced for studying the migration of ions formed
upon dissociation of structurally bound water. The electricity transport in the Na2O–P2O5 glasses is provided
by the migration processes of sodium cations Na+ and protons H+ that are formed upon the dissociation of struc-
turally bound water.
