Abstract—The dissolution of refractory ceramic fiber at various pH values was investigated with the aim of revealing the effect of pH on its morphology. Refractory ceramic fiber has high solubility at lower or higher pH values, but is hardly dissolved at pH ranges from weak acids to weak bases. The effect of the dissolution reaction on the morphology of the RCF differed under acidic and basic conditions.
