Abstract— The results of a comparative study of the viscosity characteristics of borosilicate glasses of the Na2O–K2O–B2O3–SiO2 system with different ratio values R = (Na2O + K2O)/B2O3 and K = SiO2/B2O3 are presented. Using infrared spectroscopy, the difference in the structural role of B2O3 in glasses of multiboron and highly alkaline compositions, which is reflected in the nature of the change in the viscosity indices of borosilicate glasses of the Na2O–K2O–B2O3–SiO2 system in areas with R > 1 and R < 1, is confirmed.
