Three-Dimensional Interpretation of TEM Soundings

Abstract—We describe the approach to the interpretation of electromagnetic (EM) sounding data which iter-
atively adjusts the three-dimensional (3D) model of the environment by local one-dimensional (1D) transfor-
mations and inversions and reconstructs the geometrical skeleton of the model. The final 3D inversion is carried
out with the minimal number of the sought parameters. At each step of the interpretation, the model of the
medium is corrected according to the geological information. The practical examples of the suggested method
are presented.
