Abstract—The methods for solving three-dimensional (3D) direct and inverse problems of electromagnetic
sounding are considered. It is shown that the method of integral equations is an efficient instrument for mathe-
matical modeling of electromagnetic fields in 3D heterogeneous media. Adaptation of the integral equation
technique to the solution of inverse problems is demonstrated.
