AbstractThe influence of small propylene and isopropyl alcohol vapor additions on the combustion of
hydrogen mixtures with air at atmospheric pressure was studied to find that the effectiveness of the decelerating
action of these additions on combustion was determined by their ability to cause reaction chain termination in
hydrogen oxidation. The selection of functional groups in admixture molecules made it possible to effectively
control combustion and explosion processes. In the studied reaction systems, inhibitors were only consumed in
reactions with the active intermediate products of H2 combustion.
