Abstract—A mathematical model of a molecular-weight distribution of products in the Fischer–Tropsch syn-
thesis was proposed. The model describes the process complicated by the hydrogenolysis of ethene into methyl
radicals to give methane and higher hydrocarbons. The probability of methyl generation by ethene hydrogenol-
ysis was found to increase with temperature and depend on the catalyst composition.
