AbstractAdsorption of CO on Mn/MgO model catalysts for oxidative dimerization of methane was studied
at 150350 K by IR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Manganese admixtures (
0.4%) caused the disappearance

oxide centers. At low temperatures, CO interacted with surface cations. Pure and promoted
MgO samples showed different shifts of adsorbed CO stretching vibration bands.
