Interaction of CO with Surface Active Centers of Mn/MgO
Catalysts for Oxidative Dimerization of Methane

Abstract—Adsorption of CO on Mn/MgO model catalysts for oxidative dimerization of methane was studied
at 150–350 K by IR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Manganese admixtures (> equal0.4%) caused the disappearance
of the frame0 and frame1 oxide centers. At low temperatures, CO interacted with surface cations. Pure and promoted
MgO samples showed different shifts of adsorbed CO stretching vibration bands.
