Abstract—The phase diagram of the ternary Ti–B–C system in the temperature range 300–3500 K is calculated
and constructed. The atomic vacancy ordering of nonstoichiometric titanium carbide TiCy at temperatures
below 1000 K is taken into account. The phase equilibria in the pseudobinary polythermal TiCy–TiB2 and
B4Cy–TiB2 cross sections involving nonstoichiometric titanium and boron carbides are described in detail. The
dependences of temperature and the eutectic composition of these cross sections on carbon content in nonsto-
ichiometric carbides are established.
