AbstractThe influence of some inorganic salts on the oxidative destruction of oxyethylated isononylphenols
under the action of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of iron(III) ions was studied. It was shown that nitrate anions
did not decrease the effectiveness of the oxidation of oxyethylated isononylphenols, chloride ions could com-
pletely inhibit the reaction, probably, because of the occurrence of a competing redox process, whereas the pres-
ence of sulfate ions transformed the system into a multiphase mixture, which negatively influenced oxidation.
