Abstract—Rotational mobility of spin probes in micelles of sodium alkyl sulfates was determined for probes
of different molecular shapes and sizes. Probes with paramagnetic fragments localized either near the inter-
phase boundary or in the hydrocarbon nucleus of the micelle were used. Increasing the number of carbon atoms
in the alkyl chain of the detergent from 7 to 13 decreased the local molecular mobility in the micelle by a factor
of 1.5 to 2.
