AbstractThe reference interaction site model is used to study the properties of the aqueous environment of
nonpolar chains at infinite dilution. The local structural and thermodynamic characteristics of the solvent are
determined as depending on the structure of the chains. It is shown that at a certain ratio between the geometric
parameters of chains and solvent molecules, solvent molecules become arranged along the chains in a charac-
teristic way.
