AbstractKinetics of complexation of CdAc2 and CuAc2 with tetraphenylporphin derivatives has been stud-
ied in pyridine and in a 7 : 3 ethanolbenzene mixture in order to determine the effects of the nature of substit-
uents and solvents on the reaction. Electron-accepting substituents were found to accelerate coordination in
strongly coordinating pyridine and decelerate it in a binary 7 : 3 ethanolbenzene solvent, whereas electron-
donating substituents have the opposite effect.
