AbstractThe energy of combustion of crystalline dibenzo-p-dioxine (
U
= 5714.2
4.1 kJ/mol) was
determined for the first time in a static-bomb water calorimeter. The enthalpy of sublimation (
sH
= 89.55
0.72 kJ/mol) was measured in a Calvert microcalorimeter. The data obtained were used to calculate the standard
enthalpy of formation of dibenzo-p-dioxine in the crystalline and gaseous states (148.7
4.4 and 59.2
4.4 kJ/mol,
respectively).
