Abstract—A novel 2D bone-like Au nanoplates/graphene oxide composites have been successfully synthesized using a facile ultrasonic-assistant seed-mediated approach. The morphology and structure were investigated by transmission electron microscope (TEM), high-resolution transmission electronic microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS). Studies found that the as-synthesized 2D Au nanoplates with relatively good distribution are bone-like morphologies with a length of about 50 nm and a width of about 30 nm. The catalytic activity of as-synthesized products was investigated for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol, and it was seen that the 2D bone-like Au nanoplates/graphene oxide composites exhibited significant enhancement in catalytic activity.
