Abstract—The interaction of a slow electron with a medium is modeled by the Fermi pseudopotential and
image force potential. A quantum model of the solvated electron in simple media is constructed. The model can
be used to analyze the lifetime of the solvated electron, its mobility in an electric field, and its absorption spec-
trum depending on pressure and temperature.
