Abstract—The vaporization of the ZnTe–CdTe quasi-binary system was studied by Knudsen effusion mass
spectrometry at 899 K. The composition and pressure of the vapor, activities of components, and Gibbs energy
of mixing were determined. The activity vs. composition dependence deviates negatively from the ideal behav-
ior for CdTe and positively for ZnTe, with Gibbs energy being lower than that of an ideal solution. The pframe1x
profile of the quasi-binary section was constructed. At 899 K, the CdTe–ZnTe system forms a continuous solid
solution that exhibits no stratification and sublimates incongruently.
