Abstract—Climatic fields of currents were obtained for the four seasons in the Indian Ocean (from the northern
tropic to 40°S) through adjustment calculations. The climatic circulation of the ocean was predicted for one year
starting with a winter period of the Northern Hemisphere. Numerical experiments were performed in accor
dance with a complete nonlinear model based on the box method and the leap-frog scheme for approximating
derivatives with respect to space and time. The equation for the integral function of the surface level was derived
from the equations of motion taken in a finite difference form. Basic systems of gyres of the tropical area were
obtained. The monsoon wind variability in the northern part of the ocean was responsible for the division of the
main gyres into smaller intermediate gyres when the circulation changed from a winter to a summer regime.
