Abstract—Convective motions from a heated disk rotating at a constant angular velocity in the air at rest were
experimentally studied. A motion regime diagram that includes the regime of a quasi-laminar cylindrical vortex
was constructed. The thermal structure of different regimes and the transition from a cylindrical to a conical
turbulent vortex when geometrical parameters of the system change were considered.
