AbstractFor conditions realizable in the atmospheres of the Earth and the Sun, frequency dependences are
determined for the coefficients of excitation by a point mass source and phase and group velocities of surface
waves propagating along the boundary between isothermal gaseous media with different thermodynamic
parameters in the presence of gravity. The frequency ranges are found in which there exist either surface or
leaky waves reradiating acoustic-gravity or internal gravity waves into the corresponding media.
