Abstract—Some results of the study of different circuits implementing the simultaneous mode locking and Q-switching of a resonator with the use of a spherical mirror and a travelling-wave acoustooptical modulator (SMAOM method) in a $\textrm{Nd}:\textrm{YAG}$ laser are considered. The output time and energy characteristics are presented for a diode-pumped $\textrm{Nd}:\textrm{YAG}$ laser with SMAOM and powerful picosecond tunable $\sim$620-nm radiation resulting from the cascade conversion of the frequency of a superluminescent parametric generator with pumping by means of such a laser.
