AbstractThe tidal load on the shelf of the Sea of Japan near Vladivostok was studied on the basis of the field
data obtained in different years by means of laser measurements of the earths crust strains and numerical cal-
culations. A comparison of the lithosphere tidal deformations with those theoretically calculated was per-
formed. Qualitative and quantitative agreement between the field data and theoretical calculations was found.
A conclusion was made about the possibility of the registration of tidal elevations of the level of the Sea of Japan
by a laser strain meter.
