Abstract—The goal of the study was the model simulation of the distribution and temporal variations of mne-
miopsis over the area of the Black Sea. The distribution of the ctenophore in the model was assumed to be
formed under the influence of the reproduction, growth, and mortality of animals, and their transfer with water
masses. The two-dimensional model contained biological and physical blocks. The seasonal and interannual
variations of the abundance and biomass of the ctenophore over the sea area and total biomass during different
seasons were analyzed.
