by Cyclone Propagation

AbstractSea level oscillations in the Sea of Azov caused by the propagation of cyclones characteristic of this
region are assessed within the framework of the theory of long waves. It is shown that the amplitude of the oscil-
lations relative to the onshore and offshore motions significantly depends on the propagation velocity and direc-
tion of the cyclone. Seiche oscillations emerging after the cyclone departure from the sea area are also consid-
ered. The dependencies of the seiche amplitudes and periods on the cyclone parameters are obtained.
