Abstract—The results of numerical modeling of a three-dimensional arbitrary directed wind flow over a wavy
surface are used for constructing a smooth two-dimensional approximation of the dependence of the wind–
wave interaction parameter (, ) on the wave frequency component and the angle between the direction of
wind and the wave phase velocity . The frequency dependence is described by the product of 2 by a correction
linear–fractional function. The angular dependence of is approximated by a piece of expansion of in the
cosine Fourier series.
