over a Sloping Bottom

Abstract—A three-dimensional physical model of the evolution of a finite volume of dense water over a slop-
ing bottom is developed. The model takes into account the balance of the main forces: the gravity force, the
Coriolis force, and the force of turbulent friction. It is shown that a hydraulic jump is formed at the leading front
of the current.
