Abstract—New technologies, based on modern oceanological instrumentation and tested during the ecosystem
cruises of the All-Russia Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography, are proposed for measure-
ments of basic hydrological, hydrochemical, and hydrobiological parameters. Combining an Aquashuttle towed
probe, a Neil Brown CTD profiler, and fast flow-through hydrochemical Technicon and Alpkem analyzers allows
researchers to survey water areas for only 3–8 days. This significantly improves discrimination of mesoscale
eddies, verification of satellite data, and forecasting of the commercial fish stock.
