Abstract—Reidentification of the paleomagnetic anomalies allows us to compile a new map of chrons for the
Mid-Indian Basin. Its analysis showed that the Mesozoic adjustment of the spreading systems in the basin
occurred 85–90 My B.P. The age of the “soft” collision of the western and eastern parts of the major Indian
plate is 62–67 Ma, while that of its central part is 58 Ma. The latter was accompanied by a simultaneous “hard”
collision in the east that resulted in a southward jump of the spreading axes of the Warton Ridge by 10frame1–15frame2.
The “hard” collision in the west that happened 40–42 My B.P. resulted in an adjustment of the entire spreading
system in the region considered.
