Abstract—The role of the lattice asymmetry parameter in describing the phase structure of SU(2) gluody-
namics is studied analytically. It is shown that renormalization-group relations, which make it possible to elim-
inate the dependence of thermodynamic quantities on the lattice asymmetry parameter in the “naive” limit, give
no way to do this in the SU(N)frame0 Z(N) limit without disturbing results obtained in the naive limit. To eliminate
this dependence, it is necessary to impose an additional condition fixing the parameter .
