AbstractFor the first time, the lines associated with the outer O1, O2, and O3 subshells in 201Hg are resolved
in the conversion spectrum of the 1.56 keV (M1 + E2) transition, and the relative intensities and experimental
widths of these lines are determined. The new estimate of
2(E2/ M1) = (
)

4 is obtained for the
multipole-mixing ratio from comparison of theoretical and experimental results. The refined value of the tran-
sition energy is 1564.8 ± 1.0 eV.
