Abstract—Experimental data are presented on the spectral (ESR, IR, and optical) and thermochemical char-
acteristics of a complex between the (Siframe0O)3frame1 radical and an N2O molecule. The rate constants of separate
reactions in the systems (Siframe2O)3frame3 + N2O and (Geframe4O)3frame5 +N2O are found. The results of quantum
chemical calculations of potential energy surfaces and spectral characteristics are presented for the following
systems: frame6 + N2O, H3frame7 + N2O, H3frame8 + N2O, F2Hframe9 + N2O, F3frame10 + N2O, and F3frame11 + N2O. The latter
three systems served as molecular models for experimentally found systems. Based on experimental and theo-
retical data, the product of N2O addition to (Siframe12O)3frame13 has the structure Siframe14N=Nframe15frame16. The reactions of free
radicals frame17, H3frame18, H3frame19, F2Hframe20, F3frame21, (Siframe22O)3frame23, and (Geframe24O)3frame25 with N2O are compared. The spec-
trum of optical absorbance of the (Siframe26O)3Siframe27frame28 radical is recorded and qualitatively characterized.
