Enhancement of Catalytic Activity for Benzene Hydroxylation over Novel V2O5/HZSM-5 Catalyst

Abstract—In this paper, a novel V2O5/HZSM-5 catalyst was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, mapping, inductively coupled plasma spectrometry, nitrogen physical desorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in order to expound the structure-activity relationship. The results showed that the conversion of benzene was 73.5%, the selectivity of phenol was over 99.0% under the optimal reaction conditions, and the stability of catalyst was also effectively improved.
