Effect of SO₂ on Chlorination of Bi₂O₃ + Fe₂O₃ Mixtures

Abstract-The reaction of Bi₂O₃ + Fe₂O₃ mixtures with chlorine and SO₂ at 250-700°C is studied. At 300-
500°C, the degree of bismuth chloride sublimation from the oxide mixture increases in the presence of SO₂.
Chemical sublimation of FeCl₃ occurs after BiCl₃ is virtually completely recovered from the solid phase.
